Well, what can I say? It’s been an emotional few days trying to accept moving on from a place I called home for the past 4 years. I’ve made some great friendships here and I am extremely thankful for that. One thing you learn in this business is that nothing is permanent and you need to embrace new opportunities.
First off, I would like to thank the Ōrebro hockey organization for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such an incredible journey. I remember arriving here 4 years ago as though it were yesterday. There wasn’t much hockey talk when I first arrived, but the board and sponsors believed something big was coming. The arena was at the initial stage of change and without our knowing, so was our team. Next thing you know, what was once a dream, became a reality 2 years later. Ōrebro hockey earned its place in the SHL.
I need to thank two very important friends who I am very thankful for. Andreas and David Kurt from Java. You both have treated me as part of your own family and allowed me to treat Java as though it were my own house. You two will be greatly missed and I can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for me. I will always find a way to come back and visit you.
Lastly, to the fans. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I’ve always talked about “making memories”, and told people “Dare to Dream”. The memories you have given me are more than I could have ever dreamed of. In the best of times, you made me feel appreciated, but in the worst of times, you made me feel loved. It was a real honor to play in front of you and most of all, it was a real pleasure getting to know you. You are simply THE BEST!!
The red and white will always have a special place in my heart, you fans will always have a warming part of my heart and the city of Ōrebro will always be considered a second home.
Not only am I walking away from my time here with lifelong memories, I am walking away from here with tighter pants on and better style.
Make some great memories!
With Love,
Jared Aulin #18
