Repetitioner handlar om Lars Noréns teaterprojekt som genomfördes på Tidaholmsanstalten 1998-99. Projektet kom att bli mycket kritiserat efter att deltagande interner dödat två poliser vid Malexander i Östergötland.

Regissören Michal Leszczylowski och filmaren Gunnar Källström följde projektet under sex månader på Tidaholmsanstalten. Filmen färdigställdes dock först ifjol.

Repetitioner, som hade premiär 11 februari, fick juryns huvudpris. Delar av filmen har också visats av Sveriges Television.

Juryns motivering var:

”The award for the best International Documentary goes to a film which challenges the boundaries of what the documentary can illuminate. Again, the subject, prison rehabilitation programmes, is far from unfamiliar, but both the form and the content of this film are innovative and challenging. For making a thought-provoking and demanding film which looks at deep and serious issues about the value of education programmes in prison and the nature of European bigotry and nationalism, this year's award for the best film in the International Competion goes to Michal Leszczylowski's 'Rehearsals.”
