As a result of Uppdrag gransknings previous revelations, with suspected bribes in Uzbekistan, TeliaSonera's new management said they would clean up the company's dirty past. But SVT, TT and OCCRP can now reveal yet another suspect bribery affair – with a dictatorship. Perhaps Sweden's largest, where the Swedish telecom giant is suspected of having enriched the Azerbaijani presidential family with the equivalent of over 6 billion Swedish kronor.
The investigation of TeliaSonera in Azerbaijan is a collaboration between Uppdrag granskning (Assignment: Investigate – Swedish Public Service Broadcaster SVT), OCCRP – Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and TT News Agency.
